MOVIE PLOT: Movie is based on the 2011 novel of the same name by Patrick Ness, who also wrote the screenplay and based on an original idea by Siobhan Dowd. A 12-year-old boy (Lewis MacDougall) deals with his mother's illness and bullies at school by living in a world of fairy tales and monsters.
